DriftPrivacy Policy
Drift is a travel journal that runs entirely on your device. It has no account system and does not request access to your location.
The short version
Drift collects nothing and transmits nothing. The places you log are stored on your device, and the app never asks for a location permission — you enter places deliberately, and nothing is tracked in the background.
What we collect
Nothing. There is no account, no analytics, no crash reporting, no advertising SDK and no telemetry. The developer cannot see where you have been, because that information is never transmitted.
Location, specifically
Drift does not request the location permission on either platform, does not read your device's GPS, and does not track you in the background. Every place in your log is one you entered yourself.
This is the single most sensitive thing a travel app could collect, and the app is built so that it cannot.
What the app stores, and where
Places, trips, cities, notes, dates and settings are written to the app's own private storage area on your device, readable only by Drift itself.
Purchases
Drift's Pro entitlement is currently stored as a local flag on the device. No payment details are collected or processed by the app. If a purchase provider is added in a future release, this policy will be updated before that release ships, and the provider's own handling of payment data will be named here.
Children
Drift is not directed at children, and collects no data from anyone — so there is no children's data for us to hold.
Deleting your data
Delete individual places or trips in the app, or uninstall Drift to remove everything it stored. Because nothing was transmitted, there is no remote copy to request deletion of.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, the updated version ships with the Drift release it applies to and the date at the top changes. Material changes are surfaced in the app before they take effect.
